The new work I have this year is all painted on square paper. I experimented with a mixed media method which allows me to draw and paint instead of choosing one or the other. Color and texture are the cornerstones of abstract painting, but here I circled around a few themes. The moth is a mysterious fuzzy warrior that is both fragile and fierce. It comes in countless shapes and colors. I used it as an inspiration to balance bravery and delicacy of life. May they inspire us all to be fearless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My next series in the square is full of color these are inspired by how much I treasure my friendships. I used acrylic gouache which has been an incredible inspiration for it’s flexibility with drawing and richness of mat color. The challenge is the paint is it dries a completely different color. I am enjoying learning the pigments as I go. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
